Hibiscus Expert Uses VermisTerra Worm Tea to Naturally Fight White Fly- DO NOT use insecticidal soap
Hibiscus and Plumeria Expert shares why he loves VermisTerra worm tea (which contains seaweed), and uses it during propagation, and to reduce pest pressure. Alex is a horticulturist, hybridizing exotic plumeria since 2016 (more than 9 years). He usually sprays 3x a year to control white fly and spider mites, however since using VermisTerra Tea 6 months ago, he hasn't had to spray and hasn't had pest issues.

Research conducted over several years at The Ohio State University Soil Ecology Laboratory found that worm castings enhance seed germination, plant growth, flowering and fruit production. Those are pluses, whether you're growing flowers or vegetable gardens. Castings also curb certain plant diseases, such as crown and root rots and wilt disease, and they inhibit some pests, including mites, aphids and mealy bugs.
Researchers at the Cornell University Department of Plant Pathology and Plant Microbe Biology demonstrated that worm castings suppress damping-off disease - that's the soil-borne fungal disease that targets your seeds and new seedlings. They also found that castings naturally degrade the protective covering of some plant-damaging insect pests, regulate plant nutrient release and stimulate the natural cycle of nutrients from soil to plants.-

      Yes earthworm castings and coco coir are excellent for any plant- but especially cannabis which grow very similarly to tomato and cucumbers. We've had multiple commercial greenhouses growing tomatoes and cucumbers use our products for increase plant growth, harvest weight, more blooms, and less disease complications. The key is that our products are bioavailable, and they balance out any soil issues so that nutrients, minerals, are available = less stress = plant can focus on growing! I will add that video idea to our list!

    How can your microbes live in water ? What makes this shelf stable and not just a bottle of anaerobic microbes

    • @VermisterraEarthwormCastings
      @VermisterraEarthwormCastings 10 місяців тому

      The Vitality is not brewed, it is pure worm castings, cured. There are no raw materials or compost in it- so it does not go anaerobic. Our earthworm casting tea is higher in microbe life like beneficial bacteria and fungi. We have a proprietary method that stabilizes the microbes so they go dormant until there is a food source (water, soil). Our products are certified organic, lab tested, and used by commercial farms and master gardeners across the country and internationally too. Thanks for your interest!

      @gromnasty 10 місяців тому

      @@VermisterraEarthwormCastings I understand now If a person makes a compost tea with just water and compost, it is considered an “Extract”, “Dormant Tea” or “Liquid Biological Amendment”. nearly all of the microorganisms in compost are extracted (dislodged) from the actual compost particles in one to two hours, due to the vigorous action of the brwing process the organisms are extracted into the liquid, because there are no new food resources, they remain relatively dormant, thus requiring very little oxygen. This is the reason for the ability to be stored for prolonged periods. Is this correct I?

    Do you give the tree the same amount of water like flooded watering on top? I got a 24 inch box fruitless mulberry tree with an 1 inch diameter trunk.

    • @VermisterraEarthwormCastings
      @VermisterraEarthwormCastings 2 роки тому

      Hi Alan, you would give the tree less water since it's not lost to runoff, evaporation. The key is a slow drip system of several hours at 1-3 GPH (depends on your soil type, climate). You can also test it and dig a hole outside the drip line to check how long it takes to soak that far. For your mulberry tree in a container, email us (thru the website) about the height of the box. One tube would be enough for that young tree. The tube is more to get water past layers of silt and clay blocking deep water penetration. You might benefit more from worm castings and our worm tea to help release any salt build up, build soil life, and increase fertility. I am confident those two products will help your tree produce.

      Yes you can use it with the worm castings- Vitality is made from pure worm castings. If you already have worm castings in the soil, then use the lowest Healthy Rate. If it's been a season, and you wish to add more castings by using Vitality, you can use the Boost or Supercharge Rate. Vitality is more convenient to feed to established plants, you don't have to dig, scoop or get your hands dirty.

I have 5 gallon buckets for yard scraps and kitchen scraps, that work as worm bins. There are worms in the soil. My yard has only, ever, had worm castings. Whenever we prune trees, every few years, we chip the wood and use it for mulch. I love what your family has done. I wish I could make a living doing what your family is doing.
